Anxiety

 

Symptoms:

  • excessive anxiety, worry or fear
  • a specific fear that signifucantly interferes with a student's daily life
  • rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, dizzieness, nausea or digestion problems
  • concentration difficulties, trouble sleeping, irritability

Goals:

  • verbally indentify specific worries, fears and anxieties
  • reduce anxiety so that daily fumctioning is not impaired
  • increase physical exercise as means of reducing anxiety feelings
  • implement relaxation and cognitive diversion acyivities to decrease the level of anxiety
