Student attendence is very important
and highly correlated with student success. Students are required
by law in Pitt County to attend school EVERY day it is in
session. Additionally, students may only miss school under
an excused absence. PLEASE NOTE: in order for an absence to
be considered excused, a student must submit a signed note,
by either his/her guardian and/or parent(s), to the office
and the absence must be for one of the following 8 lawful
reasons to miss school: illness/injury, quarantine, death
in the immediate family, medical ro dental appointments, court
or administrative proceedings, religious observance, deployment
activities, educational opportunity, and short term suspensions.
NOTE - The MORE a student
attends school the HIGHER his/her grades.
