Counseling at the School Setting
Counselors
at the school setting work collaboratively with students, school staff,
parents and the community to identify needs and remove barriers to learning.
Many services are offered, including individual counseling, to help these
students succeed. Individual counseling itself is often short-term, 6
sessions or less, and is aimed at resolving the issue at hand. When
necessary, long-term counseling may be suggested and is provided by outside
agencies.

Our Referral System
Students
may be referred to our office one of three ways:
Student Referrals: Students may refer themselves. However, to do so they must
first gain the permission of their teachers and have a valid hall pass.
Parent Referrals: Parents may call and refer their children. If this occurs
counselors will try their best to pull them when appropriate.
Teacher/School Staff Referrals: Teachers/school staff may refer students. To
do so, please complete the teacher referral form.
